MEET STORY FORGE

Everything has a story.
Bring it all together.

A passing thought becomes a character. A place becomes a possibility. Explore five connected workspaces, built around the way stories take shape.

STORY FORGE

Make room
for the words.

A focused home for your manuscript, from the first scene to the final chapter. Keep the people, places, and emotional threads close as you write.

  • Write, arrange, and revise your scenes
  • Keep character and world references nearby
  • Export your manuscript to DOCX or EPUB

Your story is the center of it all.

THE GLASS HARBOR / MANUSCRIPT

CHAPTER ONE

The letter

The tide had taken everything from the old harbor except its name.

Mara unfolded the letter a second time. Beyond the window, lanterns were waking along the water, one by one, as if the town were remembering something.

She knew the handwriting.
That was the trouble.

FOLLOW THE THREAD

From a small what-if
to something whole.

Move between the big picture and the smallest detail. Explore possibilities freely, then choose what becomes part of your story.

01 / IMAGINE

Begin anywhere.

A character with a secret. A city on the edge. One line you can’t leave alone. Start with the part that pulls you in.

02 / EXPLORE

Let the details connect.

Rehearse a conversation. Test an event. Trace what a character knows and how a choice might change their relationships.

03 / MAKE IT YOURS

Choose what belongs.

Review a possibility before bringing it into canon. Return to your manuscript with a clearer sense of what happens next.

THE FABLE ARTIFICE PHILOSOPHY

A little artifice.
A lot of you.

Tools should make room for imagination. Story Forge is built to support your creative decisions and keep your work in your hands.

01

You hold the pen.

Experiments stay separate until you review and approve them. You decide what becomes canon.

02

Your work has a home.

Projects are stored locally, with manuscript exports and ecosystem backups to help you keep and carry your work.

03

AI is an invitation.

Write and organize without AI. When you choose AI assistance, relevant context goes to the configured provider and its suggestions remain yours to review.

the next chapter.

Story Forge is taking shape. We’re looking for thoughtful writers, worldbuilders, and storytellers to try early builds and tell us what works—and what needs work.

The current Mac build supports Apple Silicon and macOS 13+. Windows testing is in development; you can register your interest now.

Applications are open. Invitations will be sent directly to selected testers as space becomes available. Applying does not guarantee access. A public release date has not been announced.

A FEW MORE DETAILS

Before you
turn the page.

What is Fable Artifice?

Fable Artifice is the home of Story Forge, a connected creative suite for developing manuscripts, characters, worlds, lore, and events.

Do I need to use AI?

No. You can write scenes, create local character profiles, organize your work, and accept scenes without an AI reading. AI writing and interpretation are optional actions that use a configured external provider.

How can I try Story Forge?

Story Forge is coming soon. There are no public downloads yet. Apply above to be considered for the beta; selected testers will receive access and setup instructions directly.

Which platforms does it support?

The current Mac suite targets Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 13 or later. A Windows tester build is in development and needs further platform validation. Map Forge is a separate iPad project in development. You can apply for the beta above and tell us which platform you use.

Can I take my writing with me?

Yes. Story Forge supports plain text, DOCX, and EPUB manuscript exports, editable Story JSON snapshots, and ecosystem ZIP backups. Manuscript files contain your writing; ecosystem backups preserve the connected project material.

For the stories only you can tell.
